Amphitheater near Grojec – Żywiec

Dodatkowe treści

Details of the membrane roofing structure project implementation:

Year: 2017

Location: Żywiec, Poland

Construction: Abastran sp z o. o. / Taiyo Europe GmbH

General contractor: MOSTMARPAL sp. z o. o.

Scope: partial structural design

In 2017, our company, Abastran Sp. z o. o., together with Taiyo Europe GmbH, undertook the implementation of a partial design for the construction of a membrane roof for the Amphitheater in Żywiec. The project commissioned by the general contractor, MOSTMARPAL sp. z o. o., included key structural elements designed to protect the audience and the stage from weather conditions, while maintaining the aesthetic and modern appearance of the amphitheater.

Elements of structural design

  1. Main arch with columns: The designed arch serves as the main load-bearing element on which the entire membrane roof structure is based. The columns ensure the stability and safety of the entire structure.
  2. Ring with hangers and a head holding the membrane: The ring is a key structural element that enables even distribution of tensions in the membrane, and the hangers with the head ensure precise holding of the membrane in place.
  3. Lashings of poles located behind the stage: These lashings are intended to additionally strengthen the structure against dynamic loads, such as strong wind, which is especially important in open spaces such as amphitheaters.
  4. Transparent main membrane tensioners: These tensioners not only keep the membrane in proper tension, but are also transparent, which minimizes their visibility and does not disturb the aesthetics of the view.
  5. Membrane skylights: Integrated skylights in the membrane not only provide natural lighting during the day, but also add a unique character to the entire structure.
