About flood barriers?

We supply mobile flood barriers made from high-strength membrane materials. The barriers are manufactured by Abateks at its plant in Krostoszowice. They can be deployed quickly at the threat location and protect against flood water without building permanent levees.

Group offer — manufactured by Abateks (Krostoszowice)

Individual barriers can also be bought directly from the manufacturer's shop: flood barriers in the Abateks shop

Quick, no equipment

Key advantages

Rapid deployment

Barriers can be unrolled and water-filled in a short time. The system needs no heavy equipment — just a few operators and access to water.

Reusable

Once the threat has passed the barriers can be drained, packed and stored for the next deployment. Durable PVC materials support multi-season use.

Effective protection

A water-filled barrier is as high as the tube diameter — 44, 79 or 91 cm. The modular design lets you extend the protection line, and two rows can be laid side by side against a higher wave.

Applications

Where we deliver flood barriers

Building and infrastructure protection
Riverbank levee protection
Urban area protection
Industrial site protection
Emergency services and fire brigades
Municipal flood-response stockpiles

How a municipality buys the barriers

Three steps from the inquiry to the flood-response store. Abateks manufactures and sells them; Abastran sizes the set for your protection line.

Inquiry and sizing

You give the length of the protection line and the delivery place. We pick the tube diameter (44, 79 or 91 cm) and the number of sections from 15 stock sizes.

Tender and documents

For the procedure you get the parameters from the product cards and the manufacturer's declaration of conformity (CE). The Polish CNBOP-PIB certificate is voluntary — only some tenders for fire service units require it.

Delivery and storage

Barriers arrive at the municipal flood-response store drained and rolled up. An empty 44 cm section weighs 8–33 kg, so two people carry it without equipment.

Parameters from the product cards

15 stock sizes: three tube diameters and five lengths. The barrier height equals the tube diameter.

Diameter Length Water capacity Empty weight
⌀ 44 cm 6 m 912 l 8 kg
⌀ 44 cm 11 m 1,673 l 13 kg
⌀ 44 cm 16 m 2,433 l 18 kg

⌀ 91 cm 31 m 20,162 l 88 kg

Material: waterproof PVC fabric, 650 g/m². Filling coupling STORZ B-75 (75 mm) — fits a fire hose. Data from the manufacturer's product cards.

Deployment, filling and storage

  • Filling with water takes 5–10 minutes per section, depending on pressure. The weight of the water holds the barrier in place — no anchoring, no heavy equipment.
  • An empty 44 cm section weighs 8–33 kg, a 79 cm one 13–57 kg and a 91 cm one 19–88 kg. A two-person crew handles the lighter sizes.
  • After the operation the barrier is drained, rolled up and put back in store. The manufacturer states over 50 use cycles and 10 years of fabric life.
  • The protection line is extended with further sections. Against a higher wave two rows are laid side by side.

Documents for the procedure

The barriers carry the manufacturer's declaration of conformity (CE).

The CNBOP-PIB certificate is voluntary — some tenders for Polish fire service units ask for it.

Frequently asked questions

Who sells the barriers to a municipality — Abastran or Abateks?
Abateks manufactures and sells them at its plant in Krostoszowice. Abastran sizes the set for the protection line and handles contact with the municipality. Single barriers can be bought in the Abateks shop.
Which size fits a flood-response store?
44 cm protects doors, garages and shop fronts. 79 cm suits companies and warehouses. 91 cm has the largest capacity (20,162 l at 31 m) and is the usual choice for emergency services and municipalities.
Is a CNBOP-PIB certificate needed for a tender?
Not always. The barriers carry the manufacturer's declaration of conformity (CE), and the CNBOP-PIB certificate is voluntary — only some procedures for fire service units require it.
How many people deploy a barrier?
An empty 44 cm section weighs 8–33 kg, so two people carry it. Filling through the STORZ B-75 coupling takes 5–10 minutes per section.
How are the barriers stored between floods?
Drained and rolled up, in a dry store. The manufacturer states over 50 use cycles and 10 years of life for the 650 g/m² PVC fabric.
