Scope: Design implementation, construction works, delivery and installation of membrane roofing
The reconstruction of the city stadium in Sierpc, carried out in 2018, was aimed at modernizing the existing sports infrastructure and increasing the comfort and safety of users. As the central element of this project, Abastran Sp. z o. o., acting as the general contractor, implemented a project including the delivery and installation of modern membrane roofs over the stadium stands.
The roofs used are constructed of closed round profiles made of high-strength S355J2 steel, which ensures not only stability but also the durability of the entire structure. The Mehler FR 1000 MEHATOP F1 – type III membrane used for the covering is characterized by high resistance to weather conditions and mechanical damage, which makes it an ideal material for roofs used all year round.
The designed roofs have dimensions of approximately 7.18 m x 23.46 m each, with the maximum height of the structure being approximately 5.60 m from the ground level. The total area of both roofs is approximately 363 m². The roof structure is based on arched steel girders, which are attached to solid reinforced concrete pedestals supported on the foundation slab. The roof membrane was installed using gusset plates and tensioning screws, which allowed for precise tension and perfect adjustment of the covering.
The main goal of the reconstruction was to create a functional and aesthetically attractive space that allows the organization of various sports and cultural events regardless of weather conditions. Thanks to the new roofs, the stadium stands are now better protected against rain, snow and excessive sunlight, which significantly increases the comfort of spectators.
The modernization of the municipal stadium in Sierpc had a significant impact on the local community, improving the availability and quality of sports infrastructure. Roofed stands not only increase the attractiveness of the stadium as a place for sports meetings, but also contribute to increased physical activity and social integration among residents.
To construct the roof, we used the Mehler FR 1000 MEHATOP F1 – type III membrane, which is highly resistant to atmospheric and mechanical factors. S355J2 steel was also used for the supporting structure, ensuring durability and stability of the entire structure.
The Mehler FR 1000 MEHATOP F1 membrane is exceptionally durable, making it ideal for applications that require long-term protection against various weather conditions. It also offers excellent resistance to UV radiation and mechanical damage.
The main goal of the project was to provide year-round protection for stadium spectators against rain, snow and sun, as well as to improve the aesthetics of the sports facility, which contributes to better functionality and use of the stadium throughout the year.
Yes, the materials and construction methods used ensure that the roof is fully resistant to extreme weather conditions, including strong winds and heavy rainfall, which is crucial for sports infrastructure.
Yes, the roof design was specially adapted to the dimensions and specifications of the existing stadium infrastructure, with maximum use of the available space and taking into account aesthetic and functional requirements.
We used modern assembly technologies, including fastening the membrane with gusset plates and tensioning screws, which allowed for precise tension of the membrane and ensured its stability and appropriate form.
