About tensile membrane structure design?

We provide complete design services covering form-finding analysis, static calculations, shop documentation and author's supervision. Our engineering team specialises in designing tensile membrane structures, air domes, steel halls, stadiums and amphitheatres. We deliver steel hall designs end-to-end — concept, calculations and execution documentation. We work on tensegrity structures and sports-facility roofs. We use advanced software for non-linear membrane analysis and pattern optimisation.

Software

MPanel / Easy / SOFiSTiK

Scope

Concept → execution

Analysis

FEA / form-finding

Standards

EN / Eurocode

Key advantages

Form-finding and aerodynamic analysis

We find optimal membrane shapes through form-finding methods. We run computational wind-tunnel studies (CFD) — analysing wind, snow and installation loads. We work with MPanel, Easy and SOFiSTiK.

Execution documentation

We deliver complete documentation: steel shop drawings, compensated membrane patterns, joint details, material specifications and installation guidelines.

Supervision and consulting

We provide author's supervision on site, technical consulting and material advisory. We support clients at every stage — from concept to final acceptance.

Applications

What we design

Tensile membrane structures
Air domes
Glulam structures
ETFE and PTFE facades
Steel and plate-girder halls
Tensegrity and cable structures

Frequently asked questions

How does the tensile membrane structure design process work?
The process covers: architectural concept, form-finding analysis (finding the optimal membrane shape), FEA static calculations, shop documentation with cutting patterns and steel drawings, plus author's supervision on site.
Do you design steel halls?
Yes. We design steel and plate-girder halls, including support frames for membranes, canopies and sports facilities. We deliver static calculations, shop drawings and execution documentation in line with Eurocodes.
How long does a steel hall design take?
Lead time depends on complexity — from 4 weeks for simple structures up to 12+ weeks for large-span facilities. The design package includes calculations, shop drawings and material specifications.
What software do you use for design?
We work with specialist software: MPanel and Easy for form-finding and membrane patterning, SOFiSTiK and Autodesk Robot for FEA, AutoCAD and Tekla for shop documentation. We use CFD simulations for aerodynamic analysis.
Do you provide author's supervision during construction?
Yes. We offer the full scope — from concept to author's supervision on site. Supervision covers compliance checks, stage acceptances and technical consultations during installation.
