Membrane Roof at St. Barbara Square in Bytom
Bytom, Poland
Description
In 2019, as part of the revitalization of the Rozbark district in Bytom, a modern membrane roof was built at St. Barbara Square. The project, carried out by Abastran Sp. z o.o. in cooperation with the general contractor GIJO KAPSA sp. k., covered an area of 90.0 m² and was intended to create a multifunctional space serving the local community.
An integral part of the project is a concrete wall, with climbing holds mounted on the other side. This solution has increased the functionality of the facility, creating additional possibilities for physical activity and diversifying the character of the public space. As a result, St. Barbara Square serves as a meeting place and venue for local activities, combining recreational, sports and cultural potential.
The roof is an important element of the broader revitalization programme aimed at improving the quality of life of residents and revitalising this part of the city. The project has not only aesthetically enriched the space, but also created practical conditions for organising events and outdoor activities.
The project in Bytom is an example of the use of modern membrane solutions in the urban fabric, creating a facility that is at the same time visually attractive, functional and socially engaging.
