Membrane Roof of the Amphitheater in Świnoujście

In 2014, Abastran carried out the execution design and installation of the membrane roof over the Amphitheater in Świnoujście. Located in the Spa Park, this open-air venue seats over 5,000 spectators and hosts music festivals, theatre performances, and cultural events throughout the season.

The aim of the project was to provide a durable and visually striking canopy that protects the stage and audience seating from rain and excessive sunlight, enabling outdoor events regardless of weather conditions.

A high-tensile PVC membrane with excellent UV resistance was selected for the cladding. The roof features a distinctive umbrella shape — the membrane is stretched over steel lattice girders, creating a lightweight structure spanning 2,900 m². The tensioning system at the edges, utilising gusset plates and steel cables, ensures structural stability and limits membrane displacement under wind loads.

The scope of work included the complete execution design of the membrane cladding and on-site installation of the membrane onto the existing steel structure erected by the general contractor, MOSTMARPAL Sp. z o.o.
