Phyllium – Playground Membrane Roof
Toruń, Poland
Description
Location: Toruń
In 2019, the innovative “Phyllium” membrane roof was installed over the playground at ul. Gen. Jerzego Bema 66 in Toruń. The aim of the investment was to create a space that allows children to play safely outdoors throughout the year, regardless of weather conditions.
A PVC membrane was used for the cover, resistant to UV radiation, the effects of rain and wind, as well as mechanical damage. The material — a polyester fabric coated with PVC — provides durability and easy maintenance, making it an appropriate solution for public spaces.
The “Phyllium” roof protects users from precipitation and excessive sunlight while forming an aesthetic and modern architectural element. The lightweight structural form enriches the urban space and improves the comfort of using the playground for both children and carers.
The Toruń installation is an example of how modern membrane technologies can be used to enhance the quality of recreational spaces and create functional and attractive solutions in an urban environment.
