MOSiR Stadium Grandstand Membrane Roof in Sieradz
Sieradz, Poland
Description
In 2018, a modern membrane roof was built at the stadium of the Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre (MOSiR) in Sieradz, as one of the elements of the renovation of this sports facility. The project was intended to provide effective protection for spectators from adverse weather conditions, increasing the functionality of the stadium and the comfort of use during various sports events.
A PVC membrane was used for the roof — a material with high resistance to tearing, UV and other weather factors. The roof structure is based on bent steel tubes forming arched frames, rigidly fixed to the stadium’s structure. The membrane is tensioned using gusset plates and turnbuckles, which ensures its stability and aesthetic appearance. The roof is approximately 57 m long and 12 m wide, with a maximum height of 8.5 m above the pitch level.
