ETFE Pneumatic Cushions – Restaurant Terrace Roof in Kraków

The modern roof over the restaurant terrace in Kraków was designed with both aesthetics and functionality in mind. The single-storey steel structure provides stability and durability for the entire installation. The main load-bearing frames are spaced approximately every 5.5 metres, ensuring an even distribution of loads. Additional bracing beams make the structure even more resistant to varying weather conditions.

The roof rests on the existing concrete slab and is not permanently connected to the ground, allowing it to be easily adapted to the restaurant’s changing needs. The external walls are clad with glass panels fixed directly to the steel structure, providing abundant natural light inside and an attractive appearance.

The most characteristic element of the roof are the pneumatic ETFE film cushions. They are fixed using aluminium profiles, ensuring a solid and secure attachment. ETFE films are extremely light and transparent, offering excellent light transmission and weather resistance. The roof slope is 4 degrees, which is sufficient to ensure good rainwater drainage.
