In 2018, Abastran Sp. z o. o. undertook the implementation of a modern project of roofing the stands at the municipal stadium in Świdnica. The use of advanced technical solutions and high-quality materials allowed us to create a structure that not only protects spectators from weather conditions, but also aesthetically enriches the sports facility.
The stand roof has an area of 820 m² and is made of the Valmex Mehatop Superweiss FR 1000 roof membrane from Low&Bonar, known for its excellent resistance properties and durability. The supporting structure of the roof consists of closed round profiles made of steel, which ensures high strength and stability of the entire structure. The arched roof girders, which are the key elements of the structure, are based on solidly fastened steel columns, located on deeply anchored foundations.
A membrane was installed on the arched girders, which constitutes the load-bearing element of the entire roof. The membrane was tensioned using specially designed gusset plates and tensioning screws, which guarantees its correct tension and durability. The maximum dimensions of the roof in plan view are approximately 11.65 m x 77.20 m, and the maximum height of the structure is approximately 8.48 m, calculated from the grass level.
The aim of this project was to create a year-round roof that would not only provide protection against rain and sun, but also create better conditions for fans during various sports events. This roof, thanks to its aesthetics and functionality, also contributes to raising the standards of sports infrastructure in the city.
